   Lochgelly Golf Course
Lochgelly Lochgelly

Lochgelly Golf Club is situated in the heart of Fife.  It has fantastic views of the Ochil and Lomond Hills.  We tee’d off at 8am on a chilly Sunday morning and straight from first arrival we were impressed with the Golf Club.  All the members were friendly in the car park and so to was the Professional as you would expect.  However, as we went round the golf course the number of members that came up to us and helped us by saying the next hole is that way or generally just chatted as we went round.  Even when we came off the course for something to eat almost every member spoke to us and asked us how we enjoyed their course.  People out there take note this is how a golf course should be!

We felt very welcome and we will definitely be back to play around and is certainly a course I will be recommending to the golf section at work for an outing.  The catering was also very good.

So, the golf course.  Very well laid out in our opinion a good mix of holes and you certainly would not be bored.  The 3rd was probably the worst hole in the course although Stu disagrees as he managed to par it!  Probably the one and only par 3 in the world that has a tree in the middle of the fairway although granted you can hit over it.  Don’t get us wrong though still a good hole.  The 4th and 5th were very good holes.  Certainly the 5th green in the summer would be treacherous as one of the green keepers told us (again another friendly chap!)

The 6th was a special hole for Stu as it is the first (and probably the last) par 4 he will ever drive.  To be fair almost made his eagle!

The 7th/8th and 9th were also nice holes and the back half we thoroughly enjoyed especially 15 which has a super tight fairway.  DO NOT hit a driver here ever if you come to play.

The signature hole award has been shared between 4 and 15 as we can’t separate them.  Stu destroyed the course getting 6 dongos were as I only managed the two 14 and 15.
