Baberton Golf Course |
|
Baberton Golf Club was founded in 1893 and the course was initially laid out by Willie Park Jnr., a two-times Open Champion, and later reconstructed by James Braid. As a result Baberton is a challenging and beautiful layout on undulating terrain with spectacular views of the Pentland Hills to the south, the Grampian Mountains and Forth Bridges to the north, and Edinburgh Castle and the Edinburgh skyline to the east. Well with the Hermitage out of the way it was on to Baberton with our friend Alan Johnston. A quick thanks to Alan for getting us on Baberton. So the course well it started chucking it down after Hermitage however it only last 5 holes and then turned out to be a cracking day. Not much really happened in this round of interest. Craig got a dongo at the 12th hole which was fantastic as this is a good achievement 468 yards dogleg however Alan also managed the feat. No need to talk about Stu on this hole he was all over the shop!! Stu however had to trade in the super dongo as he never managed to get a dongo. Baberton was in great nick albeit a bit heavy due to rainfall however we enjoyed the days golf. Signature hole has to be the 12th but I’m biased. |
